Opportunities for Summer Employment at Camp Caraway Camp Caraway summer programs staff includes male and female college-aged Camp Counselors/recreation facilitators who are at least age 18 that serve all summer, local hourly recreation or lifeguarding staff, and week away staff that only serve 1-2 weeks. Our summer long positions include summer camp counselors/recreation facilitators, videographer/photographers, staff coordinators, worship team leader, recreation coordinator, Timothy Program Coordinators (high school leadership program), part time hourly lifeguards, and part time hourly recreation facilitators. Summer staff orientation and training starts in late May and employment ends in mid August. Staff members are expected to work each week. A typical camp week begins around 5:00 p.m. Sunday evening with staff meeting, dinner, worship and ends after duties are completed on Friday evening (usually around 6 p.m.) Staff will be scheduled to work some weekends as needed. During orientation weeks staff will have scheduled free time, since training may be during the first two weekends. There will be up to 3 partial weekend camps that staff will work. Staffers are also expected to attend the staff banquet, usually held the weekend before the last week of camp. All other weekends are free for the staff after their duties are completed. Staff are welcome to come and go during off weekends. Many love staying at camp and enjoying the property while hanging out with other staff. There is a free washer and dryer for the staff's use. Our administrative staff will do everything we can to prepare our staff for success. Caraway staffers are thoroughly trained to do their job. Before camp begins staff will be expected to read our staff manual and watch training videos as needed in preparation for the summer. Orientation for all summer staff lasts about two weeks, unless you are invited to come in early for additional specialized training. A week away staff will attend a weekend orientation in May. During this time staffers become completely familiar with the camp program and how to lead each activity and recreation. They learn how to be an effective camp counselor, learn age-group characteristics, proper motivation and discipline techniques, how to lead campers spiritually, safety training, and sexual abuse awareness training. Staff members are also trained in first aid, CPR, AED, and basic water safety. 336-629-2374 camp@caraway.org 4756 Caraway Mountain Road P.O.Box 36 P.O.Sophia, NC 27350 Asheboro, NC 27204 23 Caraway Conference Center & Camp. ****************************************************************************** Collecting a Mile of Pennies for NCBCH Go the extra mile to help North Carolina children living at Baptist Children Homes!
